How to catch more channel catfish Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

How to catch more channel catfish - Essay Example Therefore, effective and successful fishing for channel catfish can be improved when an individual tries a few new tricks. In addition, the individual should focus his fishing efforts on the most attractive as well as most appealing catfish habitat in whatever water they choose to do the fishing (Tucker and Hargreaves, 28). One should use their most loved approaches only if they are actually producing cats, however, when the old standbys does not produce cats, the accompanying pointers could help one’s catch rate to soar. First pointer is the choices of baits. Any given kind of imaginable bait is able to help in catching the channel catfish. It is often encouraged for an individual to use cut baits as much as possible in order to catch big catfish (Sutton, 81). Body fluids from such cut baits usually play a key role in attracting catfish over long distances. An individual should match the size of the bait with the size of the catfish they are likely to catch. The second pointer is the location of catfish. Such types of fish are found in small to medium-sized river hotspots particularly the deepest part because logs, rocks as well as fallen trees in such areas make it very attractive to catfish (Tucker and Hargreaves, 27). Channel catfish normally position themselves in such areas with structures that reduce or breaks the current while they wait for food or when they want to rest.

ILM-Level 2 (Problem Solving and making decisions) Assignment

ILM-Level 2 (Problem Solving and making decisions) - Assignment Example As during the last decades the energy and utilities industries have been influenced by the great changes in terms of pricing, regulatory and legislative mandates, the Government Utility Company provides necessary information to the companies, while it is directly accountable to the people and serves the interests of all members and consumers. Navigating modern challenges of securing energy supply at reasonable costs and optimizing operational efficiency and customer service, the Government Utility Company aims to turn such challenges into opportunities. When dealing with the consultants and contractors, the critical set of requirement is the approval which will be necessary for obtaining the required utility interconnection and for success completion of the certain project. To get such approval, the company should comply with the local rules and codes such as electrical safety and follow legal and procedural requirements. Besides, customer-centric approach is not the last thing of importance and while serving for consumers, it should be also paid much attention (Procurement guide: CHP siting and permitting requirements, 2015). In these terms, the Government Utility Company considers that the main problem for the consultants is the poor ability in provision of approvals to the customers that can cause problems further. Thus its offers the improvement opportunity in the existing services, especially taking into account that there is a room for improvement in terms of the approval to be needed on the regular basis and technical requirements for interconnection of electricity to the projects should be abided by contractors and consultants. Besides, regulatory intervention standardization and equipment certification increase risks of company’s failure to meet the customers’ needs by technical and contractual requirements for connection approval. Specializing in conducting consultancy practices in electric services, the Government Utility

A Case Study On Aspergers Syndrome Education Essay

A Case Study On Aspergers Syndrome Education Essay The Aspergers Syndrome is a mild form of autism which is seen in children of school bearing age. Yet since it is a mild form of the neurobiological disorder, some children who are suffering from Aspergers Syndrome are enrolled in mainstream classroom in order to interact with other children without the disability. This research will disclose how a child who is suffering from Aspergers Syndrome might react into the learning development when they are exposed with other students. Over the years it has been noticed that it is not always in the best interests of children with Aspergers Syndrome, a mild form of autism to be working in groups in a mainstream classroom for their social development. Yet recent studies show that incorporating Aspergers children in mainstream schools might be able to help the childs social development. Those children whose needs are not at the severe end of the spectrum disorder were successfully included in mainstream schools and were able to cope accordingly. There will be a need for flexibility and recognition that the child may need some approaches different to those used for other learners. These techniques and practices will be disclosed in the latter parts of the paper. Currently the writer is working with a child who was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. Though the child displays a mild form of autism, the child was enrolled in a mainstream school. Due to this, the researcher would want to determine how a mainstream classroom would be able to support this child. According to Downshen (2010), there are few facilities which specialises in providing the special needs of children diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. Some of the children with this disorder were placed in mainstream schools, and their development would depend greatly upon the support and encouragement they can receive from parents, teachers, caregivers, and peers. For those other families, they prefer to place their children in a specialised institution for those with learning disabilities or autism. Many people with Aspergers Syndrome can function accordingly in most aspects, so the condition does not limit a childs development and success in academic and social standing. They will still be able to cope and learn as well as their peers in the classroom (ibid). Accordingly, in a study conducted by Epp (2008), she has indicated that kids with Aspergers Syndrome can still excel in mainstream classrooms and be enrolled in public schools. Since some schools do not accept children who have violent and screening behaviors, there is an instrument being used by schools to determine the verbal and cognitive skills of children. This tool will be discussed in detail in the latter parts of the study. Aspergers Syndrome is named after Hans Asperger, a paediatrician who first described the behaviour patterns which defines the illness. In 1940s, most of Aspergers patients who were suffering from the condition were males. Though they had normal language development and intelligence, the boys were impaired in their social skills, and have poor motor skills and coordination, as well as inefficient when communicating with other peers (Downshen, 2010). The illness was then diagnosed as a mild form of autism by the Asperger Syndrome Coalition of the United States. Most patients who suffer from the illness are children in the ages of 3 to 9 (Ibid). It is characterized by displaying poor social interactions, odd speech patterns, obsessive behaviours, and other unusual mannerisms in the age group of the child. Medical practitioners and educational staff were able to determine who among the children displays Aspergers Syndrome since sufferers have limited facial expressions and some were known to be obsessive in their routines. A small change in routine might set a tantrum, wherein the child would have unusual sensitivity to given sensory stimuli, such as sensing a bright light which the other kids are not able to see, and hearing a high-pitched sound which was unheard by other children. According to Downshen (2010), most children with Aspergers Syndrome were able to function and cope normally in daily activities. Aside from some odd behaviors and being socially immature, there are few other indicators that a child might be suffering from the illness. A child with Aspergers Syndrome might have motor delays, limited interests which would depend on routines, clumsiness, and unusual preoccupations. They tend to be aloof from other children with no social understanding of their actions. When they enter adulthood, they would have difficulty in demonstrating empathy for their peers, as well as be socially unable to relate to their peers. Some say that the disease lasts a lifetime with no immediate cures, yet the symptoms could wane over time, and early detection of the disease could help the child development in the areas wherein they need support (ibid). Similarly, Aspergers Syndrome is a part of Autism Spectrum Disorders. Autism Spectrum Disorders are a wide-range of developmental disabilities which includes but are is not limited to autism and other neurobiological disorders with similar characteristics and symptoms (ibid). The term spectrum disorders is made in such a way that symptoms are similar with each other, and though there different combinations of such symptoms, the degree of the illnesses severity could be on completely opposing sides. For example, two children might be diagnosed with the same neurobiological disorder, yet they might display different coping mechanisms and speeches. One might be extremely intelligent in academic works, but lacking in coordination skills in sports, whilst the other might be extremely gifted in physical activities, yet have a hard time coping with academic reports. There is a wide range of skills and abilities which could affect a child who is suffering from spectrum disorders (ibid). The study will only focus on the autism behaviour of Aspergers Syndrome, which is a mild form of autism. The researcher will not include studies and references for other forms of behaviours, and is limited on the study for AS only. The researcher does not wish to find a cure for the disorder, but aims to determine how to help children with AS be able to cope properly in mainstream classrooms without compromising their ability to learn. The research will focus on one case study of a boy with AS whom the researcher is currently working with. This boy is enrolled in a mainstream school and a mainstream classroom, both of which information will not be disclosed for the sake of keeping the boys personality and the schools name anonymous. The researcher does not wish to make the boy and the school as inanimate objects of the study, but would rather use them as a means of gathering information for the general welfare of children with AS. Lastly, the research will not include other documented cases of AS aside from the case study, except for references sake for the literature review. The educational instructors and practitioners in the said school will be interviewed for their opinions about the behaviour of the boy, and how he is able to cope in the mainstream school with his peers of the same age. The final format of this paper will contain six chapters. The first chapter is for the introduction, wherein the basics of the research would be disclosed. The Introduction would also contain the research questions and objectives. This would be followed by the second chapter which is the literature review which will inform the readers of what are articulately known today about the topic. All literatures which will be reviewed will be followed by the researchers narratives, explanations and opinions about them about the information they contain. There would be a confidentiality agreement between the participants of the case study, interviews, and other participants in the study. Before the start of the case study, the researcher will ask for the permission of parents and caregivers of the peers and classmates of the boy with AS. These caregivers and parents might have qualms about involving their children in such a study, but there could also be those who would willingly give their children the chance to be involved in such a complex study which could help children with AS in the future. After gaining the permission of the caregivers of children, the researcher will then set up the period of case study for the child with AS, and his educational providers and instructors. The researcher would establish the environment and basics of the case study, and will prepare all the needed materials to create a holistic environment. Finally, the researcher would give all educational instructors and participants their own forms for confidentiality agreement. They would be assured that their personal information will not be disclosed to any third party, and all results of the study would be purely academic. 3.8 Data Collection Methods Both primary and secondary data methodologies would be utilized in this research. The following would be the sources of data and information: 3.8.1 Primary Data All the primary data would be gathered from the primary sources of information of the researcher. These methodologies would be comprised of the case study, observation, and interviews with concerned individuals such as primary caregivers, parents, peers, and teachers of the child. They will be asked and gauged according to their proximity with the topic, as well as their experiences in coordinating with the child with AS. The primary data will also be taken from the researchers observation of the participants. These observations would be able to say a lot about the details of the research such as the credibility of their narratives and experiences. They will be asked about their experiences, and the researcher would be able to see how accurate their responses are based on their facial expressions and reasoning. 3.8.2 Secondary Data The secondary data would be derived from the contextual analysis to be done by the researcher. The researcher would perform a thorough and diverse investigation of the topic about recently published materials and articles for the line of research. The author would also indicate which among the materials are the most relevant to the study. 3.9 Conclusion The researcher would be an explanatory research with the interpretative approach which would be used to explain how the boy is coping up in a mainstream situation, as well as accurately interpret the situations and consequences of what the case study. After thoroughly explaining the researchs methodologies, the researcher have clarified the following: Case study the case study would be used in order to observe the child from his natural environment and how he is coping in a mainstream classroom for normal children. By having the case study, the researcher would be able to actively comprehend how practitioners could provide the child with adequate care for his situation. Observation the researcher would use the power of observation, such as observation sheets and narratives which would be compiled and scrutinized upon completion of the materials and data. Interviews people with close ties to the child would be interviewed for their intervention and advices about the topic, as well as how the child copes in an everyday setting. Contextual analysis by using this research method, the researcher would be able to understand how other experienced individuals have dealt with the research topic. These methods would help the research determine how working in a mainstream classroom will support a child with Aspergers Syndrome. He will also be gauged based on his ability to cope with other children who do not have neurobehavioral disorder, and how his learning in the classroom impacts the learning of other people. The researchs aims would be closely tied with the research methodologies. The data would be analyzed in a timely and accurate manner. The researcher would only focus on one child with Aspergers Syndrome, and focus on how he is coping and what are his needs in a mainstream environment. Doing such will keep the research accurate and valid. The narratives of other involved people would be judged according to their reactions and based on the observation, which would be based on how they react and answer questions. With the researcher asking in such close proximity, there would be little room for untruthful narratives.

T.S. Eliot’s American Dream :: essays research papers

T.S. Eliot’s American Dream Thomas Stearns Eliot was born to a very remarkable New England family on September 26, 1888, in St. Louis, Missouri. His father, Henry Ware, was a very successful businessman and his mother, Charlotte Stearns Eliot, was a poetess. While visiting Great Britain in 1915, World War I started and Eliot took up a permanent residency there. In 1927, he became a British citizen. While living in Britain, Eliot met and married Vivienne Haigh -Wood and at first everything was wonderful between them. Then he found out that Vivienne was very ill, both physically and mentally. In 1930, Vivienne had a mental breakdown and was confined to a mental hospital until her death in 1947. Her death was very hard on Eliot and he died on January 4, 1965. Most of Eliot’s works were produced from the emotional difficulties from his marriage. Because of Eliot’s economic status, he attended only the finest schools while growing up. He attended Smith Academy in St. Louis and Milton Academy in Massachusetts. In 1906, he started his freshman year at Harvard University studying philosophy and literature. He received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy in only three years. Eliot went on to study at the University of Oxford and also at the Sorbonne in Paris. At the Sorbonne, he found inspiration from writers such as Dante and Shakespeare and also from ancient literature, modern philosophy and eastern mysticism. Eliot’s first poem he wrote was â€Å"The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock† in 1915. Eliot converted his religion to Anglo - Catholicism and in 1927, his poetry took on new spiritual meaning. Ash Wednesday was the first poem he wrote after his conversion in 1930. It is said that it traces the pattern of Eliot’s spiritual progress. It strives to make connections between the earth ly and the eternal, the word of man and the Word of God and the emphasis is on the struggle toward belief. Thus telling us that God is part of Eliot’s American dream. Other poems Eliot has written are Portrait of a Lady (1915), Mr. Apollinax (1916), Sweeny Among the Nightingales (1918), and Four Quartets (1943) which he believed to be his greatest achievement. Eliot also wrote the play "Murder in the Cathedral" (1935). It was about the murder of Thomas Becket and was later turned into a film in 1952. Other plays written by Eliot are "The Family Reunion" (1939), "The Cocktail Party" (1949), "The Confidential Clerk" (1953), and "The Elder Statesman" (1959). T.S. Good Teachers Essay

Abstract A good teacher is hard to find. One that really loves to teach students and is effect in what they teach. I have only had a few who have inspired me to teach because of their ability to teach effectively. A good teacher is effective in what they teach and they inspire their students. I feel that every student should have the benefit of a great teacher. One that is prepared for the class and apt to teach with clarity and understanding. It is not always good to have one that is just doing it to earn an income. Good teachers are what make the world better, as we learn every day, and if we listen we are always in a class of some type. In this world of fast learning and growing job opportunities we have to be taught by the best teachers so we are able to stay on the top of our business –world. I feel that every teacher needs to be able to change their students’ lives and be experts in their field of teaching. The teacher has to understand how each student learns. Without a doubt we must be able to reach our world and be able to understand what we are trying to learn. â€Å"A Good teacher is someone that is able to make a difference in someone’s life† (Hassett). What makes a good teacher able to teach anybody? Most of people that go to class really want to learn and want to be there. One of the main things in a class room or class setting is for the class to feel free to learn. I feel that every teacher needs to go to college and not to an online school. They need to be able to be in a class room setting so they can understand what their teacher does to prepare them for their class and study. I think one of the most important things for learning is to see it in action and to be able to understand how the right way to teach, and not just trying to make something out of nothing. Most of the teacher need to  get a degree from an accredited college or university that is a reputable teaching institution and able to give the aspiring teacher the proper training. One of the main things in learning is to be preparing for class. The teacher needs to have paper and book and all the supplies. Most teachers need to be able to pass the state board for teaches for them to get their certification to teach in the state of Georgia. Most of teachers in Georgia are teaching without a license because there is a shortage of teachers. This is causing a lot of students to get teachers who have not really been qualified to teach. Teachers need to learn how to listen and to understand when a child is in need or has a special need. Every teacher needs some type of training as there is college just for teachers. The Time it takes to prepare for a class is important as it prepares the teacher to teach effectively. Most of the students will watch their teacher to make sure they know what they are talking about. There has to be a safe environment for the student to learn. Most of the students need to be push to the point where they can learn and how they learn. The teacher needs to be able to detect what learning style the student has. One of the most important things that I love is the fact that they took time out of their busy schedule to check on me and make sure I did not have to repeat the class. They sent information to make sure I could get it done and I am grateful for that. â€Å"A good teacher is someone that knows their craft, in other words, they know what they are teaching. A good teacher knows the ins and outs of what they are teaching. A good teacher enjoys teaching others, their craft and seeing their students learn† (Davis). A teacher also has a passion for people and gets an enjoyment of others success. A teacher shows their student that they care when no one else is showing the student that they care. A teacher’s job is not just a Job. As it is not just to go to work and get a paid check. It has to be a person’s passion; it’s what makes them thrive. Sometime they have to work on days when they don’t get paid just to make sure the students are learning and able to pass the test. A teacher has to show that they want to be there and really enjoy helping people. A teacher never needs to tell a student I got my degree you need to get yours. â€Å"A teacher must stay informed of what they are teaching, in other words if there is new material that goes along with their subject they should learn the new material. This is called personal development. † (Martin-Kniep). A teacher also gives discipline when it is needed because they realize if you do not show discipline in the time of need it can cause the student to have an unstructured life. â€Å"A teacher prepares their students to be successful and persistent in their goals in life. A teacher is a motivator to their students and they keep their students in a positive frame of mind† (Green). â€Å"One of the most important things that a teacher can do is be prepared for the students that come into their classroom. It does take time to make sure the teacher is prepared and ready to teach their class† (Davis). Most teachers really do not know what to expect from year to year and sometimes it gets even hard with the students, parents, and support system. Most of the students will have someone that they can have to come to the class but most of the parents in this day and hour are too busy to do anything but work and try to feed the child. I feel like† we must give the teacher some type of assistance to make sure they are successful as well as to make sure they have a clear plan of action to teach† (Christou). Most of the students will watch their teacher to make sure they know what they are talking about. This has been one of the most frustrating parts of a class and in any place where someone is trying to teach you something they don’t know themselves. A lot of the students do have a learning disorder and some of them will ask questions because they really don’t know what you are saying. They are trying to make sure they understand what is being taught by the teacher. It is not to try to cause problems but to try to understand what is being taught. And the teacher needs to know when the student is really playing and when they are not. As a lot of students have been sent to the office or outside because of asking a question that they really did not understand and someone might have laughed causing the teacher to think they were playing. They send the student outside. Thus making it even harder for the student to learn and to understand clearly what is being said. â€Å"There has to be a safe environment for the student to learn. A lot of the parents are thinking more and more about home schooling their children because it is a little safer and easier for a traveling parent† (Christou). I think if a student feels that he is not safe in the classroom he will not learn and he will always be looking around the room trying to see what is going on. He will begin to see things out of place and every time someone comes to the door or the window the student will be looking and not paying attention to the teacher at all. The main thing is that they student needs to be able to feel like they can ask any question and it not be a problem, and that no one will be laughing at them for the question that they have asked. A lot of students will shut down when they feel like they cannot express themselves, let the teacher know when they are in trouble, and need some extra help. Most of the students really need to know that the teacher is doing all they can to keep order in the class room and to make sure that it is a nice pleasant place to learn and to share idea and even to fuss sometime as long as it is going to help and bring about clarity. Without a doubt, all students need to be pushed and made to learn beyond their own understanding. There should not be a student in there who is not working their brain and able to sleep all day and still pass. Something is wrong with that and someone needs to retest that student and make sure they are on their grade level. A lot of students will not learn too well when the class is too slow for them. They will get bored really fast and not want to do nothing but cause problems because they are bored. I feel like a lot of the students that sleep in class and still walk out of the class with a passing grade need to be evaluated to determine their I. Q. â€Å"It’s about pushing students to excel; at the same time, it’s about being human, respecting others, and being professional at all times† (Leblanc). So they can make sure they push them to their max. Most students never really understand all the class room and it takes a great teacher to be like bridge between the class work and the grades. Sometimes the bridge does try to fall, but, it is a good bridge and it is able to keep the peace. Understand that sometimes it is overrun with words, people, and it has to be patient and understand that it will all pay off in the long run. In this day and hour every job is not just a job. There are many people today who are looking for a job and some of them just are able to pass test because of having book smarts. Some are only teaching in school for a paycheck and to be able to make a living. A teacher needs to be someone who loves what he/ she can do. They do not need to be thinking about a check or about paying bills. Most of them really need to be stable and able to keep their family and personal life separate. The person who wants to be a teacher needs to be more than just someone going for a job. As time passes it is important for the person to know why they are in the class room and to understand their role in shaping the lives of their students. They must understand that at this age most of the students will spend more time with them than at the house with their parents. Most of the students will begin to attach themselves to the class room as they will feel like they were trying to look forward and not behind. Most of them will find a teacher who they relate to and who they feel has their best interest at heart. It is important for teacher to understand that most of the students will watch their every move and how they react. Some of them will even try to copy how the teacher talks, walks, and even how some of them dress. Most of the students want to be a part of something or belong to something for a greater cause. So it is important that most teachers understand their role, be mindful of their actions and understand that someone will always be watching their every move. A teacher has to show that they want to be there and really enjoy helping people. I have always been in a class room where I have heard a lot of my teacher say â€Å"I got my degree now you’ve got to get yours† and some of them even have an attitude with it. This is one of the reasons why I hated school and why I felt that I was cheated of my education when I was in school. Most students really don’t want to be in school so when they already don’t want to be there, and run into something like this, it makes it hard for the student to look past what they see and hear. This is causing a lot of high school students to drop out at the 10th grade. They really do not understand that they are almost there. But we have to take control of this, put a stop to it, and let them know that we do care about them, want them to finish school, be able to learn and be productive in the world today. â€Å"Effective teachers should exhibit positive expectations to ensure each student believes they can excel. Transmitting positive reinforcement by telling each student they have high abilities and are a capable learner will allow students to excel to their highest abilities. In addition, setting positive expectations in the classroom will help students who do not have proper motivation and support at home† (Baker). A teacher never needs to tell a student I got my degree and what about you. Most of the student will always do what they hear and what they see. Most of them are smart enough to understand right from wrong. But it gets worst then they begin to see the teacher doing one thing and then doing something different. A good teacher is hard to find. One that really loves to be in the class with the student and is effective in what they teach. I have only had a few that have really left me with wanting to teach because of what they taught me and this is what a good teacher is. I feel that every student that goes to class should have the benefit of a great teacher. One that is prepared for the class and apt to teach with clarity and understanding. It is not always good to have one that is just doing it because of a Job. This is what makes the world better. As we learn every day and if we listen we are always in a class of some type. I want to be as clear as possible with everything I do and say so that it will help other teachers to take pride in their craft. APPENDIX A REFERENCES Brackett, Nancy. Computer Motherboard (Descriptive)

Computer Motherboard Motherboard acts like the arteries of a human taking the blood all over allowing the blood to travel. It has many line-like structures that are like the veins and the arteries. These lines are the wires mounted on the motherboard that keep thousandths or even millions of connection. Motherboard is a small yet powerful device inside the computer system. The motherboard has three cards on it. First, the graphics card, it is like the eyes of the computer, it acts like the eye that saw and reflects images to the screen.Second, the sound card it is the mouth of the computer, it sends sound to the speaker, it shouts what the computer says. And the third, the modem, the nose of the computer. It sniffs messages from the wires coming from the telephone lines. If there’s a blood, there’s also the heart. The processor of the computer acts as the heart of the computer. It has a square-shaped chip that has many pins. It sits on the motherboard controlling all th e cards including the motherboard. It controls, allows, and restricts information that is being disseminated into the system like the heart. It also has a heat sink and a fan keeping the processor cool. To be able to complete the system, it also has the brain. Hard disk serves as the brain of the computer. It is rectangular in shape. Inside it, there’s a mirror-like disk where all the information are stored. The disk spin at greater speed, depending on the information /data is being written into the disk.Motherboard is also consists of chips, transistors, and capacitors. It is the other component of the motherboard that acts like the organs of the system. These chips may be small as a grain of rice and bigger as a coin. Transistor is a small, black in color and rectangular in shape. It is sometimes recognizable because of its three metal legs attached on it. Transistors is consists of thousand or even million of IC (Integrated Circuit) packed in one part. And the capacitors ar e like tanks attached in the motherboard. It varies in size; it may be small, medium or large depending on the voltage and its capacitance. Motherboard is consists of millions of chips, transistors and IC’s. It acts like the body of the computer. Without it, the computer will not work. It is like the trunk of a tree. It is an amazing thing that has millions of wires attached in a small board. It is powerful and fundamental part that the computer will not work without it. Reference: * Motherboard.
